Description

No. 31 is a detached cottage situated in Kimmeridge village. The building dates to the late 18th or early 19th century and appears to comprise two phases of construction. It features stone walls and a stone slate roof, with a brick stack. The cottage is two storeys high. A single-storey lean-to addition on the north side has part weatherboarded walls and a slate roof. The cottage has a gable end facing the lane. A porch with a slate lean-to roof and a part-glazed panelled door leads to the entrance. On the ground floor, there is one casement window with glazing bars. The first floor has two windows, also with glazing bars and top-hung lights. A stone lean-to extends from the east side, covered with a slate roof, and an attached stone outbuilding has a corrugated iron roof. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
