Description
The parish church, with origins dating back to the 12th century, has undergone significant restoration and rebuilding in the 19th century. It features stone walls and a stone slate roof, presenting a simple single-cell layout that includes a south porch and a 19th-century vestry at the west end. An open stone bell-turret is positioned over the west gable. The north wall has no windows, while the south and east windows are in the Gothic style, added in the 19th century. The south porch, dating from the 13th century, has a two-centred arch and wrought iron gates. The south door, from the 12th century, displays roll mouldings on the arch and imposts, along with a chamfered label mould. Inside, the roof is from the 19th century, and there is a circular stone font from the 12th century set on a later base. The church also contains several wall tablets from the 18th century. The churchyard features mainly 19th-century monuments, with a few headstones from the 18th century, and is enclosed by a low stone boundary wall.
