Description

No. 8 Church Street is a cottage dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone blocks, featuring freestone and ashlar dressings. The cottage has a thatched roof, with end stacks that have been rebuilt in brick. It is one storey and has an attic, forming an L-plan with a lean-to in the angle. The central entrance consists of a glazed four-panelled door, flanked by casement windows that have flush keystones above their lintels. There are also two dormer windows with sloping roofs. A stone door step and a wrought iron boot scraper fixed to the wall are additional features. This building is included for its group value.
