Description

Two mid-to-late 17th-century dwellings, originally one house or farmhouse, located on Church Street in Alwalton. The buildings are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with freestone and ashlar dressings, and have a Collyweston stone slated roof. A large ridge stack has been rebuilt in brick on its upper stage, while an ashlar end stack with a single flue and a further end stack are also present. The structure is two storeys high with a single-story range to the left. The original three-unit plan has been modified. A 19th-century boarded door, set within a shallow pointed arch, is located on the left at number 14. A 20th-century recessed six-panelled door is positioned to the right at number 12, set within a wide opening and featuring a small, blocked rectangular light above. The ground floor has two transomed three-light casement windows and one 20th-century casement window on the right-hand side, and a single three-light chamfered mullioned window to the left. An Enclosure Award Map from 1809 is referenced in the Huntingdonshire Record Office.
