Description
The stables and coach house to The Old Rectory, built around 1853 with later additions, are located on Alwalton Mill Lane. These structures originally served as a garage and outbuildings. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with freestone and ashlar dressings, along with 19th-century brick. The roofs feature Collyweston stone slates in a hipped style, as well as Welsh slates and pantiles, with a rear stack. The building is two storeys high and consists of two offset parallel ranges, with lean-to additions on both the left and right sides of the east range. The east elevation includes a plain ashlar band at the cill height. It features a central boarded door with a rectangular fanlight above, a large window to the left with a rectangular light, and a smaller window to the right, all of which have wooden lintels.
