Description
Ospringe House, located at No 8 Newland, is a building from the early to mid 19th century. It has two storeys and a basement, featuring three windows and one blind panel above. The windows are sash style, three panes wide. On the ground floor, there is a paired sash window on the left with stone dressings and a dripmould, and another sash window on the right, also with a dripmould. Four stone steps lead up to the stone doorway, which has a pointed head, plain ashlar spandrels, and a square dripmould. The entrance includes a six flush-panelled door with a triangular fanlight above. The roof is slate with a gabled design and a moulded stone eaves cornice. The building has painted brick fronts and a colour washed stone basement. Ospringe House is part of a group with Nos 8 to 12 (even) and the western range of No 16 (Hunt's Dairies), along with the North wing of Digby Estate Office on Cheap Street.
