Description

No. 6, St Thomas Street is a house in a row with a shop, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of painted Flemish bond brickwork, with a slate roof. The building is three storeys high with an attic, displaying two windows. A gabled dormer incorporating four panes sits above two four-pane sash windows set within moulded, flush boxes. A late 19th-century shop front is present, featuring a moulded cornice that curves to mirror the oriel above, a canted fascia supported on moulded consoles, and late 20th-century glazing. A three-brick band runs above the first floor, and the eaves are bracketed. No chimney stack is visible. The interior has not been inspected. While previously listed alongside numbers 7 and 8, this building appears to have been constructed at a different time and with a different design than those properties.
