House in row, with shop. Early to mid C19. Flemish bond brickwork, painted to the front, slate roof, with steep mansard slope to the rear but ridge roof to the front. 3 storeys and attic, 2 windows, all sashes; 4-pane flat-roofed dormers above 4-pane in reveals, on stone sills at second floor, and canted plain oriels with moulded cornices at first floor. Ground floor has a full-width C20 shop front. Moulded stone cornice, blocking-course and coped parapet. The return wall to the left, exposed by the setting-back of the adjacent building, has 2 stacks, joined by a straight parapet. To the left is a 2-light casement with transom, under a segmental head, above a square, flat-roofed glazed extension at first-floor level. The rear wall includes a 6-pane and an escape door, above 16-pane sash and 2-light casement, to rubbed brick arches, and a flat-roofed extension. RCHME suggests that the first floor originally had a verandah. INTERIOR not inspected. (RCHME: Dorset, South-East: London: 1970-: 353).
