Description

This pair of gate piers, dating from the early 18th century, is located approximately 30 meters west of St Nicholas Church. They are possibly taken from Eastbury House, which was designed by Vanbrugh and mainly demolished between around 1775 and 1782. The piers are octagonal in shape and constructed from banded greensand ashlar and rustic flint. They feature a dentilled cornice and ball finials.
