Description
No 16 Market Place is a three-storey building with a two-window front, constructed from red brick. The windows feature segmental heads and late Georgian sashes. There is an eaves cornice adorned with dentils. The building has a modern plate-glass shop front, with fluted Greek Doric engaged columns framing the doorway, which contains an eight-panelled door. A deep modern fascia conceals a Doric entablature that includes triglyphs. This building is part of a group that includes all the listed buildings in Market Place, as well as Nos 59 to 73 (odd) East Street, Conyer's Filling Station, Nos 1 to 7 (odd), Nos 2 to 8 (even), No 12 West Street, and the Church of St Peter and St Paul.
