Description
22 and 24 Market Place are late 18th century buildings with a three-storey, four-window front. The ground floor is made of stone or stucco, while the upper floors are constructed of red brick. The buildings feature sash windows with altered glazing bars and have a small eaves cornice. There are two small shop fronts from the early to mid-19th century, with the name board in No 22 adorned with flanking scrolls; No 24 previously had a similar name board. These buildings are part of a group that includes all the listed buildings in Market Place, as well as Nos 59 to 73 (odd) East Street, Conyer's Filling Station, Nos 1 to 7 (odd), Nos 2 to 8 (even), No 12 West Street, and the Church of St Peter and St Paul.
