Description
This is an early 19th-century house in a row, located on Church Street, Upwey, near Weymouth. Originally likely built as two single-bay cottages, it is now combined into a single dwelling with a full-width rear range. The exterior is constructed from squared Portland stone rubble, which was previously rendered, and has a slate roof. The house is three stories tall, featuring two windows, all casement windows. These include a two-light and a three-light window at the eaves level, a two-light window on the first floor, and a three-light window on the ground floor, all with splayed stone voussoirs. A central part-glazed door is sheltered by a pediment hood supported by wooden brackets. Brick stacks are present on each gable. The rear range is arranged over two stories, with a flat-roofed extension at one end and a lean-to on the north side. The interior has not been inspected.
