Description
No. 33 St Mary Street is a wide-fronted row house with a shop, dating from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick, and the roof is not visible. It features a symmetrical three-storey, three-window front, with all windows being sashes that have vertical bars only. On the second floor, there is a central six-pane window flanked by two eight-pane windows, all set in plain reveals with flush splayed lintels and stone sills. The first floor has a central six-pane window flanked by canted oriels, which contain two, eight, and two-pane sashes, all situated beneath a frieze-band and cornice. The frieze extends across as a plat band. The ground floor features a full-width 20th-century shop front with a central pier and recessed doors. The moulded stone cornice is stopped at the ends, and the blocking-course has a flush raised central pediment, all leading up to the parapet coping. There is a stack located to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
