Description

COOMBE STREET 1. 1357 (South West Side) Old Police Station SY 3492 1/139 II GV 2. Mid to later C19. 2 storeys but with much higher front than to Nos 8 and 9. 2 window bays. Cladding of dressed flint with some knapped flint. Brick eaves bracket cornice; rendered blocking course. Brick quoins; brick toothed course; brick plaque above doorway. Segmental headed sash windows without glazing bars in brick chamfered reveals with brick dressings and voussoirs. Doorway of similar shape; ledged door; brass bell. Brick chamfer to plinth. Graded II for group value and for local historical interest.

Nos 6, 6A & Nos 7 to 10 (consec) together with the Old Police Station form a group.
