Description
Merryfield is a detached farmhouse built in the mid-18th century. It features brick walls laid in Flemish bond with regular all-over burnt headers and has a plat band above the ground floor windows. The south gable end is constructed with chalk-block walls. The roof is covered with slate, including stone slate eaves courses, and there are 20th-century brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has two storeys and dormers, with three windows that are two-light wooden casements, complete with glazing bars, wooden sills, and segmental heads. The window heads display alternating burnt headers and red brick voussoirs. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century French window with glazing bars. The 20th-century extensions added to the rear and side of the original house are not considered of special interest.
