Description

Durlston Cottage is believed to have originated as a lime-buyer's cottage. The main building now appears to date from the 19th century, as shown on the Tithe Map. It is two storeys high with rendered walls and a low pitched slate roof. There are two canted bay windows on each floor, featuring double-hung sashes. The central doorway has a semi-circular head and a fanlight above, with a six-panel door. The architectural details are similar to those of Seymer Place. At the rear of the property, there are remains of old lime kilns.
