Description
Built around 1830, likely by William Morton Pitt, Belvedere and Belvedere Lodge originally comprised three houses. The building is three storeys high, with rendered walls and a slate roof concealed behind a parapet. The facade is divided into three sections by raised, flat pilasters, with the southern section set back. Horizontal string courses define each storey. The ground floor of the southern section features a glazed door topped with a fanlight, and a balcony above. Windows are present on the central and northern sections of the ground floor. Upper floors each incorporate two windows per section, with first-floor windows set within circular recesses. All windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. A second entrance is located in the north wall, featuring a circular-headed fanlight and a six-panel door, approached by a projecting timber porch with a pedimented roof and glazed fanlight. A two-storeyed wing extends from the rear. A stone boundary wall runs along Seymer Road.
