Description
The Bursary to Sherborne School, formerly known as Abbey Cottage, is part of Sherborne School and dates from the early 19th century. It is a two-storey building with a pebble-dashed front facing east, which completes the vista at the end of Abbey Road. The façade features three windows, with the ground floor having three-light sash windows. A notable feature is the good trellis porch topped with a peaked lead canopy. The building has a hipped slate roof with wide eaves. Behind the main structure, there is an older stone gabled building, part of which has plain tile roofs and stone slates at the eaves.
