Description
Periwinkles is a detached cottage located in Church Knowle, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. The cottage features plastered cob walls and a hipped thatched roof with a brick stack. It is two storeys high and has a brick coped gabled porch with a round-arched opening, leading to a 20th-century ledged door.
On the ground floor, there is one casement window with a central glazing bar and one double-hung sash window, also with a central bar. The first floor has two casement windows set slightly into the eaves, featuring horizontal glazing bars.
There are two lean-to extensions: the south extension is made of brick with a tiled roof and includes an oriel window with cast iron lattice glazing. The north extension, also with a tiled roof, has a flat window with cast iron lattice glazing and a circular window above. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed.
