Description

Cut Millhouse is a millhouse that appears to be an early 19th century rebuild of an earlier structure. The eastern part is constructed of squared, coursed rubble, while the western part is made of brick in English bond. It has a half-hipped slate roof and features a stable door accessed by a flight of steps. The building stands three storeys high and has wooden windows, some of which are casements, set under wooden lintels and segmental brick arches. Inside, there is machinery by Armfield from around 1900, which is nearly complete, along with two sets of grindstones. The wooden undershot wheel is somewhat decayed and is of an earlier origin than the machinery.
