Description
The Marquis of Lorne Inn is a detached public house built in the early 19th century. It features dressed stone walls and a slate roof with gable ends. The building has two storeys and is topped with brick stacks, located at the left-hand gable and to the right of the center, which have been rebuilt. There are four windows, each with two-light wooden casements that include glazing bars and wooden cills, set beneath segmental stone arches with voussoirs. The front door is positioned left of center and is framed by stone pilasters with simple capitals. Above the door is a round projecting arch with a keystone that has a carved rosette inscribed with "The Marquis of Lorne." To the right of center, there is a bar entrance featuring a plank door with glass lights.
