Description
Newton Farm House is a detached farmhouse located on the north side of Dorchester Road in Lytchett Minster. It was built in the early 19th century and extended to the north later in the 19th century. The original section features plastered walls, a slate roof, and brick stacks along the ridge, designed in a Victorian Tudor style. The house has two storeys, with a glazed door and fanlight set beneath a four-centred arch that has a hood mould. The ground floor includes four two-light windows with four-centred arches and glazing bars, all under hood moulds, although one of these windows is blocked. The first floor has five similar windows. The northern extension is made of brick and also has a slate roof, featuring double-hung sash windows on both floors. At the rear, there is a lean-to covered way supported by timber posts, also with a slate roof. A brick boundary wall runs along the road, likely built around the same time as the house.
