Description

A detached house located in Lytchett Minster, dating back to the 17th century with additions made in the 20th century. The house is constructed of plastered cob walls, with a hipped thatched roof and brick stacks on the ridge. It is a single-story building with attics. The front door has a reeded timber surround. On the ground floor is one casement window with glazing bars. Two dormers with matching casements are found in the attic. A lean-to projection is situated at the east end, covered by a thatched catslide roof. A 20th-century extension, built to match the original construction, has been added to the west, resulting in a T-shaped plan. Inside the main ground floor room is a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and jambs. A bread oven and remnants of a curing chamber can also be found. The oak staircase features cut-out shaped balusters.
