Description
Pinford Bridge is a Grade II* listed bridge located over a lake in Sherborne Park, dating from the late 18th century. It is said to have been designed by Robert Mylne in 1790. The bridge features ashlar stonework and consists of three segmental spans that are separated by broad projecting piers. Each segmental arch is adorned with moulded archivolts. The structure includes a balustraded parapet, which is divided by pedestals positioned between the arches and over the crowns of the arches. There are 18th-century designs for proposed bridges in the park available at the Digby Estate Office.
