Description

The brewhouse at the rear of Smedmore House is a 17th-century structure that was altered in the 19th century. It features stone walls and a stone slate roof, and is single-storey with a cellar beneath the eastern section. The doorway has a moulded stone surround and a flat four-centred arch. There are two two-light stone mullioned windows with lead lights, and a door to the cellar that has a shaped stone lintel, above which is a four-light stone mullioned window. The interior retains some old brewing equipment.
