Description

Knighton Farmhouse is an 18th-century house, incorporating what was formerly a brewhouse. It was joined to the brewhouse by a 20th-century extension. The house is built of Isle of Wight stone rubble with ashlar quoins and red brick dressings. It has a tiled roof and two brick chimneystacks at each end. The front has three windows; the first floor has a central 12-pane sash window and two 20-pane triple sashes at the ends. The ground floor has two 16-pane sash windows set in cambered architraves. A central doorcase features a 6-panelled door and a gabled weatherhood. The south gable has stone coping and kneelers. To the rear, a two-storey link extension of stone rubble with a tiled roof and three top-opening casement windows connects the house to the former brewhouse. The brewhouse is single-storied, of stone rubble with red brick dressings, and has a slate roof, a single brick chimney stack, and modern casement windows.
