Description

The Greyhound Public House is a mid-18th century building located on the south side of Market Place. It features a long, six-window red brick façade that stands behind the National Westminster Bank. Historically, when the Bank was known as the Greyhound Inn, this structure may have served as an outbuilding. The building is two storeys tall with a cellar and has a mansard roof with dormers. It showcases a dentil eaves cornice, and the doorways are adorned with keystones. Both the doorways and the sash windows have segmental heads. The Greyhound Public House is part of a group of listed buildings that includes all the structures in Market Place, as well as several on East Street, West Street, and the Church of St Peter and St Paul.
