Description

Nos 5 and 7 West Street is a building dating from after 1731. It is three stories high and has a six-window front, constructed with typical brickwork. The building features a parapet and a moulded brick dentil cornice. The windows are similar to those found at Nos 1 and 3, although the glazing bars are missing. On the ground floor, there are two plate glass shop windows. Originally, there was only one shop window, and to the right, there was rusticated stone treatment with two windows that have segmental heads and a nail-studded door. Conyer's Filling Station and Nos 1 to 7 (odd) form a group with the listed buildings in Market Square, along with Nos 1 to 11 (odd) and the Crown and Anchor Public House, which also form a group.
