Description

The Bariew Monument is a table-tomb located 3 metres south of the chancel of St Peter's Church in Long Bredy, dating from the mid-17th century. It is made of grey stone and features arcaded sides and ends, with segmental arcades topped by a modillion cornice. On the north side, there are two large rosettes, and the end panels display cartouches with shell-heads. The south side bears an inscription in capital letters that reads: "Henry Bariew was buryed here February 18th 1669, and Judith his wife January 29th 1688."
