Description
The Church of Holy Trinity is a parish church located in Godmanstone, with origins dating back to the 12th century. It features a chancel arch and responds from this period. The west tower and the north wall of the nave were constructed in the 15th century, while the top stage of the tower was added in the 17th century. The chancel was rebuilt in the 16th century, during which north and south chapels were added, along with an integral south porch. The door-jambs of the south porch were restored in the 19th century. The church underwent restoration in 1848. Its walls are made of banded flint and dressed stone, with freestone dressings, and the roofs are covered with stone slates, slates, and lead. The layout includes a west tower, a nave with a north chapel and a south chapel featuring a two-bay arcade, a south porch, a vestry immediately to the west, and a chancel.
