Description

Smith's Arms is a small public house located in Godmanstone Village, dating from the 18th century and significantly restored in the 20th century. The building features flint rubble walls with rubble-stone quoins and a hipped thatch roof adorned with decorative block ridging. There is a 20th-century brick chimney stack on the north side at the west end. The structure is single storey, with small 2-light casement windows that have glazing bars. A fixed window with glazing bars provides light to the bar area. The entrance door facing the road is a 20th-century addition and includes frosted lights. The pub claims to be the smallest public house in England and was converted from a smithy during the time of Charles II.
