Description

The Old Vicarage is a detached house, originally a vicarage, with a core dating probably to the 17th century, enlarged and remodelled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The walls are plastered, and the roof is covered with slate, with plastered chimney stacks. The house has an irregular plan. The front range, dating to the 18th century, features a 20th-century reproduction classical portico with a panelled door. The ground floor has four casement windows with glazing bars, and the first floor has five similar windows. The original section at the rear retains a steeply pitched gabled slate roof. Early 19th-century additions at each end incorporate double-hung sash windows. Inside the original section, a cob chimney survives.
