Description

The Barn House is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed, squared rubble walls with a thatched roof featuring stone gable copings. Brick stacks are positioned at each gable end. The house has two storeys and originally had three windows, now renewed 3-light wooden casements with glazing-bars. A 4-light wooden casement is located on the ground floor to the left. Wooden sills and lintels are present. The front door, located on the left-hand side, is of a painted, 19th-century design with flush and fielded panels. A large rear wing is included as part of the listed building, along with attached farm buildings to the right. These farm buildings are characterised by random rubble walls and Roman tile roofs, maintaining the same eaves line. Notable features include two stone gable copings, an 18th-century stone stack with a cornice, and a 20th-century brick stack at the right-hand gable. The farm buildings also contain 20th-century 3-light wooden casements and two blocked entrances.
