Description

Eastbury House is an irregularly shaped building, likely dating from around 1700, with various additions and alterations made over the years. The front facing the road is a late 18th century roughcast design with two storeys and five windows, featuring a stone plinth and chamfered quoins. The roof is made of stone slate, with gable ends that have stone parapet copings. A stone doorway is adorned with Tuscan half-round pilasters and an entablature, and the door opening is round-headed with a fanlight above it. To the right, there is a carriage entrance flanked by stone gate piers topped with moulded caps.

Inside, there is a re-set 17th century stone fireplace. To the west of Eastbury House, a high stone garden wall with rubble capping extends around the corner to St Swithin's Road and continues northward up St Swithin's Road as far as St Swithin's Close.

Eastbury House, along with The Red House, Grey Lodge, the forecourt walls and railings to The Red House, Donore, the wall railings and gate to Donore, Elizabeth House, Bracondale, The Cedars, East Cedars, the garden wall adjoining The Cedars on the west side, Corby House, Hill View Lodge, Masongill, Glenville, and Long Street Post Office, forms a group of buildings of collective significance.
