Description

Stour Grange is a house dating from around 1800, with a rear wing added in 1862. The original part of the house is constructed of stucco, ashlar, and rubble, with a slate roof, gable ends, and end stone stacks. It is two storeys high and originally had four window bays. The south facade has a five-light sash window with glazing bars on the left-hand side, and a later canted bay with casement windows to the right. Above are four sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded architraves. The rear wing is constructed of ashlar and has two storeys and an attic, with an asymmetrical arrangement of windows. A reset moulded four-centred arch is incorporated into the building, set within a square surround with continuously moulded jambs and foliage in the spandrels. This arch is believed to have come from the local church.
