Description
St Mary's Church Hall, originally a school, was built in 1817 with a likely mid-19th century extension on the left. The original part of the building is constructed from squared, dressed stone and features a tiled roof with gable ends and no visible stacks, along with stone quoins. It is a single-storey structure with four windows. The windows are 19th-century wooden sashes with four panes, set under segmental stone arches. There is a central tablet with an inscription.
The left extension is made of brick in Flemish bond with random flared headers, and it has a tiled roof with stone slates at the verges. The gable end has stone coping and a brick kneeler, with all windows set under segmental brick arches. This section includes a central 19th-century four-pane sash flanked by horizontally pivoting six-pane casements. A 20th-century porch connects with the earlier range. On the west gable, there is an ashlar stone window with three lights, featuring a mullioned and transomed design, a square head, and a stone label.
