Description
The gates and gate piers to St Mary's Church churchyard, leading to Church Walk, were likely built around 1825. They are made of wrought iron and feature cast (possibly bronze) finials. The piers are four-sided with an open lattice design and an open entablature, topped with an open spur finial that ends in a mitre. There are subsidiary mitre finials on the ironwork below. The double gates consist of three rails with a curved upper rail. The uprights of the gates alternate in height, terminating at the top and middle rails, and also bear mitre finials.
