Description

This is a row of cottages dating to around 1800, located on the east side of Church Street in Sturminster Newton. The cottages are built of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, distinguished by the flared brick headers. They sit upon a rubble plinth, and have thatched roofs with brick stacks. The row has two storeys and originally had a five-window front. All ground floor openings are set beneath segmental arches and contain 3-light metal casement windows with horizontal glazing bars; however, number 23 has a 3-light wooden casement with horizontal glazing bars on the ground floor and a matching 2-light window above.
