Description

Messrs Northover and Gilbert’s Mill, dated 1838, is a former cloth mill constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a pitched slate roof featuring coped gables. The building is three storeys high and arranged with seven ranges of mullioned windows, each with glazing bars and gauged stone voussoirs. A doorway at the south end has a semi-circular head and a keystone, while a tall round-headed window is located at the north end. A brick factory chimney bearing the initials "H and R C" is also present. A one-storey red brick lean-to addition extends from the south end of the mill. Various red brick and hammer-dressed stone outhouses are situated at the northwest corner. The listed buildings in Priory Lane form a group with No 72, Priory Cottage, St Michael's Lane.
