Description

Langton House is a kitchen wing, dating to circa 1827 and designed by C R Cockrell. It was originally part of a larger Langton House, which was demolished in 1949, and is now a private dwelling. The wing is constructed of finely jointed ashlar with slate roofs and ashlar stacks, incorporating an ashlar plat band. It has a T-shaped layout, with a symmetrical south-west front facing what was formerly a courtyard. The front has three bays, with the central bay topped by a pediment. It features various sash windows with glazing bars. The main entrance is now located through a panelled door on the side of the building. The building has been altered but remains an important part of a group with The Old Stables and the Old Brewhouse, also designed by C R Cockrell.
