Description

The Old Brewhouse is a former brewhouse associated with the now-demolished Langton House, built around 1830 by C R Cockrell. It is constructed of finely jointed ashlar stone and features slate roofs and ashlar stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a central round archway that has been enclosed and fitted with a 20th-century floor. The south-west front includes a three-bay loggia with round-headed archways. The windows are of assorted styles. At the top, the roof is crowned by a turret with a cupola. Although it has undergone some alterations, it remains an important part of the group that includes Langton House and The Old Stables, which were also designed by C R Cockrell.
