Description
Bovington Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house, likely built on earlier foundations. It has two storeys and attics in the gable end, constructed of red brick with grey headers. The thatched roof features one dormer. A string course runs along the building, which has five sash windows with cambered heads, intact glazing bars, and keystones. There is a part plinth made of large stone blocks, possibly remnants of a medieval building on the site. A 19th-century thatched gabled porch is present, along with a 19th-century L-wing at the rear, which is two storeys high, made of brick and stone, and has a slate roof. Inside, the farmhouse includes spine beams, a simple inglenook fireplace, and an early 18th-century 'dogleg' staircase with scrolled tread ends and two turned balusters on each step.
