Description
St Mary's House is a detached house built in the mid-19th century. It features plastered walls and gabled tiled roofs, which have ornamental ridges and terra-cotta gable finials. The house has brick stacks with ornamental caps and bases. It is partly two-storeyed and partly one storey with attics. The main front, facing north-east, includes a gabled porch with an ornamental bargeboard and a pointed arch that has been partially blocked to accommodate a window. The current door is located next to this in an open timber porch. On the ground floor, there are two casement windows, while the attic features three gabled dormers with ornamental bargeboards and casements that have glazing bars. The south-east front has a square bay window on the ground floor, which is adorned with a moulded cornice and double-hung sashes. The house is noted for its picturesque appearance and is included for its group value.
