Description
Nos 28 to 30 on South Street are mid-19th century buildings constructed of brown brick. They feature a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves supported by paired cut brackets. On the left side, there are brick stacks with cornicing. The first floor of the west elevation has six segment-headed sash windows, while the south elevation has two. The buildings have complete mid-19th century shopfronts, each separated by a panelled pilaster topped with a long fluted console and a semi-circular acroterion. The corners of the shopfronts are curved, with a slightly higher fascia that is flanked by cut brackets and topped by a deeply moulded cornice. The fascia displays the name "James Foot Ltd" in well-preserved 19th century lettering.
