Description
Lloyds Bank, located at No. 41 on the south side of High Street, was built in 1896. It features a Portland Stone facade with a roof concealed behind a parapet, showcasing a formal classical design across four bays. The ground floor has two outer bays with doors set in moulded arched openings, while the two inner bays contain round-headed windows. Each bay is separated by pairs of Tuscan pilasters. On the first floor, there are four double-hung sash windows, again divided by pairs of Tuscan pilasters. The second floor also has four double-hung sash windows, which have raised aprons to the cills and are separated by single Tuscan pilasters. A moulded string course runs between the first and second floors, and there is a moulded dentil cornice at the parapet. This building is included for its group value.
