Description

The White Swan is an inn located on the south side of High Street, dating from the 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The main building features rendered walls and a roof made of Purbeck Stone, although part of it has been replaced with modern concrete slates. It is two storeys high and has modern casement windows. At the rear, there is a wing facing Stafford Road, which likely started as cottages but has now been incorporated into the inn, also probably from the 18th century. This wing is two storeys tall, has Purbeck Stone walls, and a modern concrete slate roof, along with double-hung sash windows.
