Description

The Crown Public House is likely much earlier in origin, with a core dating from an unknown period, though it was refronted probably in 1862, as indicated by the date above the door. It is a two-storey, three-window building with a slate gabled roof. The front is stuccoed, with a stuccoed plinth. The windows are casement type, with a two-light window above and a three-light window below, each with dripstones above. A double wooden boarded door is centrally placed, leading to a passageway, also with a dripstone above. The building forms a group with Nos. 38 to 44 (even) on High Street.
