Description
Websley Farmhouse is a mid-19th century building that has been converted from farm cottages into a house. The front of the farmhouse is rendered, while parts of the sides and the back feature brick and flint banding, topped with slate roofs. Originally, it consisted of two cottages associated with the model farm located immediately to the west. The structure comprises two parallel blocks, each with hipped roofs that are connected at a central valley, with the front block being taller than the back.
The front elevation is two storeys high and features four windows arranged in pairs, all of which are small-paned 2-light casements with a central wooden mullion and iron lights. To the left, there is a 19th-century panelled door that is centered on the first unit. A central ridge brick stack is present, along with a cropped stack on the left return and large 20th-century casements on the right return. The back block primarily has 2-light iron casements similar to those at the front, along with a projecting one-storey hipped central extension and one eaves brick stack. The interiors have not been inspected. This farmhouse is an important part of the group associated with the model farm established by Lord Portman on his estate.
