Description
This property, comprising numbers 622 and 623 Blandford Road, is likely of 17th-century origin. It has timber-framed walls with brick infill, covered by a thatched roof, and brick stacks. The building is one storey high, with attics above. A single-storey section to the east is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. A single-storey lean-to extends from the rear, featuring brick walls and a thatched catslide roof. The front elevation has one part-glazed door and one ledged door, along with three casement windows on the ground floor. Two dormers with casement windows containing lead lights are set into the attic roof. An inscription on the front wall reads "IKA 1697," suggesting the house may be older than this date. Internally, some exposed ceiling beams are visible on the ground floor. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments records this building as Monument 37.
