Description

This is a house, now divided into three separate dwellings, dating from the 18th century. The building was recently dismantled and subsequently rebuilt to replicate its original form. It has a stone plinth and walls of chequer brick, topped with a half-hipped tile roof and stone slates above the eaves. Pink brick stacks are also present. The house has two storeys and an attic, with a band running horizontally across its facade. The eaves feature bricks laid on the diagonal. There are five ranges of flush-framed sash windows with glazing bars, each framed with rubber voussoirs. Two windows on the first floor have been blocked up. There are three neo-Victorian doors within doorcases. Three attic dormers are visible. A later 20th-century rear wing, designated as No. 27D, is not part of this listed building. The building forms a group with Nos 13 to 33 (odd), 37 and 39 East Street, with Nos 23 and 25 having only local architectural interest.
